"Chalk Dad" aired as the sixth Oh Yeah! Cartoons short focusing on ChalkZone on October 30, 1999. It is notable for being one of two Oh Yeah! shorts not incorporated into the regular ChalkZone series in any way, alongside "Chalk Rain."
The episode introduced the character of Chalk Dad, based off of Rudy's father and their voices sound similar to Yosemite Sam from Looney Tunes as opposed to Ned Flanders from The Simpsons. Until November 2020, it was not viewable online and the episode itself was considered lost media, but the storyboard (completed on December 11, 1998) was posted in its entirety on Scribd by Fred Seibert.[1]
On November 5, 2020, Fred Seibert uploaded the master copy of the short on his Vimeo.[2]
