- In airing order, this appears to be Penny's first visit to ChalkZone. However, her actual first visit was in "Rudy's Date", which originally aired as a short on Oh Yeah! Cartoons in 1999 and was aired with "Snapmobile" and "Future Zone" as the fourth episode of the series proper. "Snapmobile/Rudy's Date/Future Zone" is actually the second episode in production order, but was aired later. Because "French Fry Falls/Gift Adrift" was in production first, it aired first.
- The Oh Yeah! Cartoons short "The Amazin' River" was included in this episode as the flashback sequence.
- This episode reveals a lot about the relationship between Rudy and Biclops.
- This was the last episode to feature an Oh Yeah! Cartoons short as a flashback; all other season one episodes would include them as a regular episode (as the rest of the shorts take place when Rudy is ten, as he is in the series, instead of eight).
