Rudy's Date is the third ChalkZone short to premiere on Oh Yeah! Cartoons and is episode two, part B of ChalkZone. It is notable for being the first appearance of Penny Sanchez.

Summary

When Reggie erases Penny's formula off the chalk board, Rudy shows her how she can recover it - by venturing into ChalkZone.

Plot

Penny does a mathematical formula about perpetual motion on the chalkboard, as she explains to Rudy that it has been wondered by scientists for centuries. Just as she tries to input the equation into her computer, Reggie has erased it from the chalkboard, playing a game of Hangman.

After an uncaring Reggie leaves, Penny agonizes over her formula being lost forever. Rudy tells her he knows a way to get her formula back, and shows her Magic Chalk. A skeptical Penny points out it's just chalk, with Rudy telling her it's Magic Chalk, using it to open a portal to ChalkZone. Penny points out this isn't scientifically possible, but Rudy brings her into ChalkZone to show her it is indeed real.

Snap shows up shortly afterward, wanting Rudy to "Polar bowl," where polar bears are using penguins as bowling pins. Penny is disappointed at what she just saw, pointing out it can't be fun for the penguins. But the penguins get back up, laughing. Snap, who has never met Penny before, asks who she is. Rudy introduces her to him, but both parties are cold towards each other.

Wanting to change the subject, Rudy asks if Snap has seen a formula anywhere, with Snap searching. He returns with baby formula as opposed to Penny's formula. A baby comes over, reclaiming its bottle. Snap condescendingly asks Rudy what he's doing with Penny, reminding Snap that Penny is his friend. He specifies they are looking for a scientific formula.

They venture throughout ChalkZone, finding remnants of Penny's formula all the while. In the Candy Canes, the gang meet Biker Butch, who has the remaining equations on his leather jacket. As he refuses to return them, Rudy uses the chalk to draw a hammock, which traps the biker and successfully removes the equations off his jacket. They work together to send him to jail using the Candy cane trees.
