"Rudy's Story"

Rudy's First Adventure is the first episode of the first season of ChalkZone. It serves as both a new episode and clip show, as the beginning of the episode serves as an introduction to Rudy's current life as a 10 year old and the second half shows the entirety of the pilot episode, "ChalkZone", when Rudy was 8.

Synopsis[]

While in detention, Rudy finds out about the Magic Chalk and he goes into the ChalkZone, a place where all the erased chalk pictures go to. He meets up with Snap, a picture of a superhero that Rudy drew in 2nd grade, and a monster named Bully Nerd based on Reggie Bullnerd. With Snap's help, can Rudy beat the thick-headed monster?

Plot[]

Rudy's parents, Joe and Millie Tabootie, call for their son to come outside. However, Rudy is currently stuck in ChalkZone, with a bird carrying him with its talons. Snap tells him to get his Magic Chalk, with Rudy succeeding. He draws an anchor, falling on a train Snap is using to distract the bird. However, Rudy lets go of the chalk as the bird takes him away.

Snap lands in the sand when the train falls off the track, with the Magic Chalk in tow. He meets the Bathtub Granny, but she runs away shortly after. Snap soon finds out why: a gigantic cat is behind him. Meanwhile, the bird is returning to its birdhouse, throwing Rudy inside it. Rudy sees three eggs, which hatch soon after. It doesn't take him long to figure out he's the bird's food.

Snap hurriedly tries using the chalk, while the cat still runs after him. After running on a flight of stairs, he hears Rudy not too far away, calling for help. Snap, using the stairs as a diving board, tries jumping into the birdhouse, but hits the back instead. He falls in, where the three birds fight over who should eat Rudy. To complicate matters, the cat bends down the birdhouse in pursuit of Snap.

The mother bird bites the cat's tail to distract it. Now chasing after her, Rudy, Snap and the baby birds are flung from the house. The birds fly away while Snap gives Rudy the chalk, giving Snap a parachute. Snap asks if Rudy will make it through the portal okay, which he does, being flung back to his room. His parents, unaware of ChalkZone, have grown impatient, with his mother calling him in an operatic voice. He enters the real world shortly after, falling on top of the car.

When Millie asks Rudy what took him so long to get downstairs, he replies that he was drawing. Joe opines Rudy spends too much time doing that, feeling he should do something more physical like camping. Rudy quips he gets a lot of exercise at school, as he looks at it while driving by.

A flashback begins, stating "2 years earlier." It goes over ChalkZone, the pilot episode of the series, when Rudy was 8 years old and drew Snap for the first time. After school bully Reggie takes his lunch money, he draws Bully Nerd, an unflattering Reggie with bull features, in revenge. Mr. Wilter sees Reggie use Rudy as an eraser, and when Reggie tells him Rudy drew Bully Nerd, Rudy is punished with detention, writing "cartoons are not funny" 500 times on the chalkboard.

After his stick of chalk breaks, he grabs another from the White Lightnin' box, the very one having a glow. Once he draws an "o," Rudy opens a portal to a world he's never seen before: ChalkZone. Rudy meets his own creation, Snap, and soon after his other drawing, Bully Nerd. The latter has been terrorizing Snap. Using the chalk, Snap pulls Rudy into ChalkZone, introducing him to the world and the fact that every time a chalk drawing is erased, it lives in the chalk-based world. He meets his old drawings, Blocky and Bathtub Granny, along the way.

However, Bully Nerd returns, chasing after Rudy and Snap. After several attempts at stopping him, Rudy is sent back to the real world after Bully Nerd smashes his fist on the balance beam. With Bully Nerd still antagonizing Snap, Rudy must figure out a solution: he draws a weight, erasing it and having it drop on the balance beam. Strong enough to fly Bully Nerd through the air, Rudy erases Bully Nerd as soon as he comes close to entering Earth.

As Reggie still had chalk in his hand, Mr. Wilter believes he framed Rudy for the drawing, thus Rudy is released from detention while Reggie must do what was Rudy's punishment. He asks Wilter how to spell "cartoons" as the episode ends.
