  • This episode originally aired as the fourth ChalkZone short for Oh Yeah! Cartoons in 1999.
  • This episode marks the first time in the series where Rudy's house is shown.
  • This is the only episode where Rudy's bedroom is on the first floor of his house. In all other episodes, it's on the top floor.
  • First appearance of Night Zone
  • Clips from this episode were used in the ChalkZone opening for the first two seasons.
  • In this episode only, Rudy is shown to have "expressive hair" when Snap scares him, causing his cowlick to stand up (this is a common trope used in animation). This does not occur for the rest of the series.
  • First appearance of The Beef Meat in the series. However, it has yet to be given a name.
  • This is also the first appearance of Joe Tabootie, Rudy's father. Although Millie Tabootie is not introduced until "Gift Adrift".
  • This episode (along with Future Zone and Pie Day) initially premiered on December 31, 1999, with the rest of Season One planned to air in fall of 2000 However, Nickelodeon delayed the series for two years. The show "officially" premiered on March 22, 2002. Reasons are still unknown why the show was delayed.

    • An alternate title card was used in this 1999 version to make it fit more with the rest of the series. The final version aired in 2002 simply reused the "Oh Yeah! Cartoons" title card.

Goofs

  • The coloring in this episode appears to be paler than usual.
  • When Penny tells Rudy to get the hampster, her shirt is yellow instead of greenish-yellow.
  • Chalk Dad is credited, but doesn't appear in the episode.
