"The Wiggies" was the first part of the third episode of ChalkZone.
Summary[]
Hair eating frogs from ChalkZone have invaded Plainville. Can Rudy and Penny send them back and save the hair of PlainsVille?
Plot[]
As Penny, Rudy and Snap venture throughout ChalkZone, they land on Wiggie Island. A sign warns "danger: keep off," but Rudy decides it doesn't look dangerous as the trio go through. An accordion pops out of a hole, with Rudy performing "Accordion Worm" with it. Penny and Snap sing along as a mysterious frog-like creature jumps from the grass.
Snap tells Penny and Rudy to stand back, as the creature is a Wiggie. The Wiggie begins sucking on Penny's head, with Penny pleading for Rudy to help her. He manages to rip the Wiggie off, but now the Wiggie attaches itself to Rudy's head. Snap in turn tries to help Rudy, but the Wiggie covers Rudy's head. Rudy tries blowing the Wiggie off as Penny hits it with her notebook, sending the Wiggie flying away from them. It bounces off a nearby tree and towards Penny, but the latter hits the Wiggie again into the Candy Cane forest. Penny and Rudy return to the real world.
Penny states she can practically feel the Wiggie on her scalp still, and for good reason: her hair still has goo in it, same with Rudy. They get some towels as the ChalkZone portal, which was not erased, shows the Wiggie looking into the real world, jumping into it. Then, several other Wiggies follow it outside an open window. They view their next victim, a very furry dog. Rudy tells Penny there is nothing to worry about, with Rudy realizing he forgot to erase the portal, doing so.
Soon after, they see all the Wiggies suck the hair off of the dog, leaving it completely hairless. Penny wears a football helmet and Rudy a hat to prevent more of their hair being taken by the Wiggies. Rudy blames himself for the mess, as he had forgotten to close the portal. The kids see The Wiggies wreaking havoc across PlainsVille and its citizens. Their first course of action is using a water hose to spray the Wiggies off everyone, but Rudy realizes that won't work. He decides going back to ChalkZone to find a solution. Rudy tells Penny to keep things under control while he's gone. However, one Wiggie eyes her, causing Penny to run away.
Snap was playing with the exhausted Accordion Worm, who smacks him as it inches away. Rudy runs up to him, and tells Snap the Wiggies have escaped into the real world. Rudy realizes he must tempt them back to ChalkZone. Meanwhile, hysteria has risen in PlainsVille, as firemen, police officers and a news reporter (whose hair has been eaten entirely) are on the scene. The news reporter interviews the mayor, Clarence Michaels, who is of no help. Dr. Lawrence Vonfurstenberg posits they are extraterrestrial creatures from the "planet" Hairball, and an elderly man is interviewed, with the reporter quipping "As usual, nobody has a clue." Reggie's sweater is shown being eaten by the Wiggies. They eventually realize Reggie's shirt is imitation fur, and they head for the zoo.
The fireman claims he will shoot a hose at them, with a now bald Penny pleading he not do that. She tells he and the news reporter she knows what they are, to the reporter's disbelief. She tries explaining everything without revealing ChalkZone. She decides to say Rudy will return from Greenland. The news reporter takes the microphone away as the fireman sees the Wiggies, about to use the hose when Rudy comes back with a furcoat and hat, to Penny's happiness. He taunts the Wiggies to follow him, who take the bait. He runs into his house and ultimately ChalkZone, with the Wiggies all following him there. Penny makes sure to erase the portal so they won't escape again. As the news reporter asks what happened to Rudy, Penny says she had to take the Wiggies back to Greenland.
With everything back to normal (though all the citizens are going to wig, hat and other shops to conceal their baldness), a now bald Rudy walks down the street with Penny, who's wearing a red wig. Rudy teases Penny by wearing it himself, saying he looks like a traffic cone as Penny runs after him.
